I have just had a very sad call from the skipper of the McGregor to
say that he has had to cancel the trip to Normandy, due a fire and following
sinking of the boat last week, now before you all fall about laughing he was
calling me from his hospital bed as he has just spent five days in hospital
after sustaining burns and injuries from the fire and they did have to be
rescued from the life raft, as they were at sea. Although he is insured he has
said that he is taking early retirement as he can't face re-fitting a dive boat
and he will have lost this season, sounds in a sorry way. He is returning our
deposit in full. So what now, as I have this week off I am prepared to try to
book something else, perhapse Ireland as Sue Hill had mentioned this destination
previously. I am not promising anything but I need to know how many people and
how flexible you are with prices and dates. I won't actually book anything
without first consulting with every one and suggest I could do some leg work
before our meeting on Friday, so need urgent replies. E-mail me or ring.
Was to have been:
A chance to see the wrecks remaining from the famous invasion landings of World War Two. The trip will be on a hard boat and will cost £445 per person for 12 divers or £535 pp for 10 divers.
Should France be blown out we may be able to reschedule to Scilly Isles or Channel Islands.
